The Theatre bit of this Life

Scenes from a Horse on My Back (devised through a workshop on playwriting conducted by the German award-winning author Kerstin Specht and Nigeria's Ben Tomoloju. The play was directed by German director Matthias Gehrt and Nigeria's Jide Ogungbade. The play was part of the epochal Afrika Projekt, the Germany-Nigeria Cultural Dialogue through the theatre devised by then Director of Goethe Institut, Richard Lang. It was later staged in Nigeria and about 12 cities in Germany. I was the Stage manager as well as one of the lead actors, playimn the Capoon of the cultists students> other members of cast were Toyin Osinaike; Zara Abimbola Udofia; Inna Abubakar; Joke Muyiwa; Okonedo Omokaro; Saidi Ilelaboye; Tunji Sotimirin etc.

Sam Loco Efe... Theatre King Of All Time

As had been stated elsewhere, only the Drama king himself could have pulled off the wild, morbid drama that attended the announcement of his own passing last week. Confusion reigned for nearly the whole week about the true state of affairs concerning the status of the evergreen master of the stage and screen; and not even the various clarifications by members of his family and his younger colleagues with whom he had been working when death called, could douse the terrible mix-up about the true state of his passing. CORA holds Publishers’ Forum as part of 12th Lagos Book & Art Festival.
